A full bench of five defendants is scheduled for a pivotal 10:30 AM hearing as the "Joint Enterprise" murder case for Suhail Choudry moves toward a unified trial.
The investigation into the targeted killing of 35-year-old father-of-two Suhail Choudry has reached a significant judicial threshold today, Wednesday, March 18, 2026. With a major court appearance less than 24 hours away, the West Yorkshire Homicide and Major Enquiry Team (HMET) is moving into a "prosecutorial alignment" phase, consolidating evidence against the five men currently remanded in high-security custody.
The March 19 Docket: Synchronizing Justice
Tomorrow’s hearing before His Honour Judge Neil Clark at Bradford Crown Court represents a critical procedural step. While the hearing is officially anchored by Rashid Hussain (41), it is expected to formally synchronize the cases of the five men now charged with murder, violent disorder, and possession of offensive weapons:
- Rashid Hussain (41), of Redcliffe Street, Keighley
- Majid Hussain (42), of Devonshire Street, Keighley
- Mohammed Aliyan Khan (23), of Malsis Road, Keighley
- Faisal Khan (26), of Malsis Road, Keighley
- Hakeem Gulzar (27), of Plover Street, Keighley
Tomorrow’s focus will be "plea and trial preparation"—establishing whether the men will enter pleas and setting a binding timetable for the trial, which is currently provisionally slated for January 2027.
Custody Status: Remands and Bail
As of this afternoon, five men remain in high-security remand following the fatal ambush on Flasby Street.
Active Custody: A 42-year-old man arrested on March 2 remains in police custody, and a 32-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender also remains detained.
Conditional Bail: A 27-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman previously arrested for assisting an offender are on conditional bail with strict orders to avoid Keighley town centre.
Forensic Trail: The 'Channeling' Tactic
Detectives continue to finalize the digital evidence package. Cell-site analysis remains central to proving the "channeling" of Mr. Choudry's Toyota Prius into the Flasby Street cul-de-sac. Forensic teams have also completed DNA profiling on recovered weapons—specifically bats and sticks—to establish physical links between the scene and the accused.
The Family's Vigil
Suhail Choudry died in hospital on February 11, three days after the attack. His widow, Zara Choudry, who is expecting the couple's third child, continues to be supported by Family Liaison Officers. In a statement, she shared: "Telling our children their daddy has passed away is something no mother should have to do. We will never find peace with the brutality in which he left us, but we can find justice."

West Yorkshire Police maintain a 24-hour appeal via the Major Incident Public Portal (MIPP). Residents with footage from the Flasby Street area between 2:45 AM and 3:30 AM on February 8 are urged to submit it immediately.
