A 26-year-old man has appeared before the courts charged with the kidnap and murder of 21-year-old Jack Sullivan, who died after being discovered with severe injuries in a Hertfordshire car park. Detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate confirmed that Kevhaunne Williams, of Beechfield Walk, Waltham Abbey, was formally charged following an extensive inter-county inquiry. Mr Sullivan was allegedly abducted from Waltham Abbey on 22 June before being located critically wounded inside a Cheshunt car park later that day. Despite emergency interventions by medical teams, he succumbed to fatal head injuries in hospital on 26 June.
The formal charging of Williams marks a pivotal breakthrough in a complex cross-border homicide investigation led by Essex Police alongside regional partners. Williams made an initial appearance at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court before his case was transferred to Chelmsford Crown Court. During preliminary proceedings, the court heard that a provisional post-mortem examination determined the medical cause of death to be a severe head injury. Williams was remanded in custody without bail and is scheduled to enter a plea on 16 October, with a provisional trial window reserved for March.

Central to the homicide inquiry is the movement of a black Mitsubishi Outlander carrying cloned number plates displaying the registration HY16 FZR. According to police intelligence, the vehicle was originally stolen from a residential property in Loughton on 3 June. Detectives established that the SUV was used during the abduction on 22 June before being discarded in River Close, adjacent to Fishers Close in Waltham Cross, on 23 June.

Speaking to journalists, DCI Wood noted that investigators remain eager to speak with witnesses or motorists with dashcam footage who may have seen the black Mitsubishi Outlander between 3 June and its abandonment on 23 June. Police confirmed that the vehicle has since been recovered for extensive forensic analysis.
Detectives have renewed an urgent public appeal regarding Mr Sullivan’s missing personal property, specifically a pair of blue Louis Vuitton trainers valued at approximately £1,000. The high-end designer shoes were not present when Mr Sullivan was discovered by emergency services and remain unaccounted for.
