According to Türkiye, the nation wishes to see progress in the conversation over visa liberalisation with the European Union as its relations are being repaired. Since the beginning of the summer, Ankara has been attempting to mend fences with the EU, and now that the country's most drawn-out accession procedure in history is underway, Ankara expects to advance the conversation. The conversation on visa liberalisation has long been one of Türkiye's top goals, and officials from both countries are likely to address the matter in the coming days. In order to participate in the conversation on visa liberalisation, Turkey must meet a total of 72 conditions, of which 66 have already been satisfied. The Roadmap for Turkey outlines areas where the nation must implement legislative and administrative reforms in order to provide a safe environment for visa-free travel, according to the Commission of the European Union. “The Roadmap seeks to identify the legislation and all other measures that Turkey needs to adopt and implement and the requirements it needs to fulfil to achieve visa liberalisation,” the statement of the Commission reads. The Roadmap tackles issues such as document security, border control, migration, and public order and security, as well as basic rights. Additionally, it provides specifications for the readmission of unauthorised immigrants. All Turkish individuals must still get a Schengen visa in order to enter the EU since their country still needs to fulfil all of the standards established by the EU. A Schengen visa is a brief-term visa that enables the holder to travel and business entry into the Schengen Area for up to 90 days during a six-month period. Turks must present a number of papers while applying for a Schengen visa. Along with their Turkish passport and two identification photos, they must submit a fully filled and signed visa application form. They must also provide proof of having reserved lodging inside the bloc, proof of having obtained travel insurance, a roundtrip flight schedule, proof of having adequate financial resources, and evidence that the visa cost has been paid, among other things.
