Israel advances amid fighting in Rafah and Jabalia
According to Hamas, "no matter how long the aggression lasts and regardless of its form," Palestinians would continue to resist the ground invasion of Rafah and other areas of Gaza.
With an additional 100,000 evading Israel's ground invasion on the north, over 630,000 Palestinians have already left Rafah in the south.
In some of the worst battles of the war, Palestinian rebels are confronting Israeli soldiers in Jabalia, northern Gaza, and southern Rafah city.
In a rare air strike, an Israeli jet aircraft kills Palestinian Islamic Jihad commander Islam Khamaysa and wounds eight others in the Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank.
Israeli attacks on Gaza have resulted in at least 35,303 killings and 79,261 injuries since October 7. There have been 1,139 deaths in Israel as a result of Hamas attacks, and many more are currently in detention.
