British Bangladeshi girl Tahmina Ahmed has made a remarkable success in Britain. She obtained the First Class First in her BSc (Hons) degree in Business Management from the world-renowned Queen Mary University of London in results released on the July 12th.
Her average marks were above First Class in each Academic Year of the Degree. Moreover, she has obtained very high and record marks in her Department in several subjects every year. In the First Year, Tahmina secured 90% marks in Economics for Business, 98%, 86.6% and 81% respectively in Fundamentals for Business Studies and Skills Module and 80% in Group Presentation on Current Challenges in Business Management. In the Second Year, she got 84.9% in Business Law and 81% in Operations Management. In the Third and Final Year, he scored 79% in Managing Diversity, 83% in Strategic Analysis and Practice, and 90% in Employment Relations.

Born in London, Tahmina Ahmed's ancestral home is Bahara Dubag under Biswanath Upazila of Sylhet District, Bangladesh. She is the third child of Barrister Nazir Ahmed, a prominent British lawyer, renowned writer and former Deputy Speaker of Newham Council for three consecutive terms, and Mrs. Salma Ahmed, a poet.

Born in a talented family, Tahmina's elder sister Tasnia Ahmed has become a qualified teacher in a Secondary School after completing her LLB (Hons) Degree from the University of Westminster and PGCE from Roehampton University. Her elder sister Farhana Ahmad become a barrister from the world-renowned Honorable Society of Lincoln's Inn after graduating with First Class First in LLB (Hons) Degree from the City Law School of London University and obtaining LLM degree and Bar-at-Law from the same Law School. Her two younger brothers, Hasan Murshed Ahmed and Ahsan Ahmed, are studying at Brampton Manor Academy and Brampton Manor Sixth Form respectively, one of the best Secondary Schools and Sixth Form in Britain. It may be noted that Tahmina's father, Barrister Nazir Ahmad, also completed his LLB (Hons) Degree from the same University 27 years ago and later obtained LLM degree, topping the Bar-at-Law course results and becoming a barrister from Lincoln's Inn. Earlier in SSC and HSC Exams in Bangladesh he secured a place in the Merit Lists in Comilla Education Board from the Humanities Group and got Merit Scholarships in both Exams.
Reacting to her brilliant result, Tahmina said, “I am extremely happy with my results. I am thankful to my Almighty God. I am grateful to my fantastic parents, teachers and elder sisters. Without their guidance, mentoring and support I wouldn’t be able to achieve what I did. I want to play an active role in building an enlightened society and community.”
