BSF in Tripura has arrested two Bangladeshi nationals and two Indian touts in separate incidents
Two Indian touts and one Bangladeshi national were caught by the Border Security Force (BSF) in Tripura while trying to enter the country illegally. On July 16, the arrests took place in two different events.
In the first instance, an Indian tout and a Bangladeshi guy were apprehended early in the morning by a special patrolling party from the Nischintpur Border Out Post in Tripura's West District. The suspects were apprehended while attempting to enter Bangladesh from India.
The Indian tout was recognised as 54-year-old Arabinda Das from Assam, and the 48-year-old Bangladeshi national was identified as Atiqur Rahman from the Brahmanabaria district.
The second incident involved the BSF's Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) working alongside the Government Railway Police. They apprehended another Bangladeshi national and an Indian tout in Agartala.
The detained Bangladeshi was identified as Rinku Chandra Das, 18, from Chittagong, and the Indian tout as Royal Das, 27, from West Bengal.
A BSF official stated, "Questioning of apprehended persons is in progress. BSF has stepped up its drive against such illegal Bangladeshi immigrants and all field formations are actively breaking down the nexus of touts in the bordering areas."
