An array of online influencers, anti-Muslim extremists and fascist groups have stoked the unrest, experts say.

Following a night of "unforgivable" violence in Sunderland, ministers are due to meet to examine the possibility of more widespread disturbance. Riot police have been engaged in face-offs with protestors throughout the UK.

MPs from all political stripes have condemned the far-right following three days of unrest in London, Manchester, Southport, and Hartlepool.

Demonstrations planned on Saturday began in towns around the nation as tensions are still high following the death of three young girls on Monday at a holiday club in Southport, Merseyside, with a Taylor Swift theme.

The prime minister and home secretary should "do more" to bring back public order, according to shadow home secretary James Cleverly.

According to Mr. Cleverly, Yvette Cooper and Sir Keir Starmer must "send a clear message to the thugs".

He added that the "spread of disinformation fuelling these events" calls for social media corporations to be held accountable.

The candidate for Tory leader stated: "Labour need to clamp down immediately on the violence that we have seen across the country and send a clear message to the thugs that they will be met with the full strength of the law."The people look to the government to bring back order."To show that they are in control of the issue, the prime minister and home secretary need to take more action.
