Dr. Muhammad Yunus took oath as the chief advisor
Dr. Muhammad Yunus took oath as the chief advisor of the interim government of Bangladesh. The president Md Sahabuddin recited the oath to him in the Durbar Hall of Bangabhavan.
At that time, leaders of various political parties, military-civilian officials and diplomats were present in the Durbar Hall.
16 people have been appointed as advisers to the interim government. They are:
1. Saleh Uddin Ahmed
2. Dr. Asif Nazrul
3. Adilur Rahman Khan
4. Hasan Arif
5. Touhid Hossain
6. Syeda Rizwana Hasan
7. Md. Nahid Islam
8. Asif Mahmud is alive and well
9. Brigadier General M Sakhawat Hussain (Retd.)
10. Supradeep Chakma
11. Farida Akhtar
12. Bidhan Ranjan Roy
13. A. F. M. Khalid Hasan
14. Noor Jahan Begum
15. Sharmin Murshid
16. Farooq-e-Azam
13 of the 16 appointed advisors took oath today. The three could not take the oath as they were outside Dhaka. However, their appointment has been completed. They are: Farooq-e-Azam, Supradeep Chakma and Bidhan Ranjan Roy. It is said that they will take oath soon.
