This is the horrifying moment a man spat at a London bus driver after cursing and insulting Muslims. Michael Mongan is seen in the video, which has gone viral on social media, yelling at the bus driver while standing right outside the house door on Coldharbour Lane in Hayes. Mongan was not allowed to board the bus because he was unable to pay the fare. Upon being denied entry, Mongan is heard shouting, "You Muslim terrorist b*******." Afterwards, he got aboard the bus and twice spat at the driver, who was shielded by a screen. As shocked onlookers watched, the driver summoned the man back to board the bus a few moments later.
At this, the man pivoted and again said, "you get off the bus," before launching into another round of insults directed towards Muslims. When Mongan got into the bus and banged his fist down on the screen, the argument got physical. Mongan was apprehended on Friday after being promptly identified. Criminal damage and a race-aggravated public order offense were the charges brought against him. On August 10, 2017, Mongan, 39, of Castle Road, Ealing, entered a guilty plea to both charges at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court. On Tuesday, August 13, he was remanded in detention until sentencing at the same court."I hope the fast response from our officers sends a clear message that we will act to hold those who behave in this way to account. I'm glad Mongan has been swiftly brought to justice and will now face the consequences of his actions."
Since being shared online, the clip has gone viral, racking up more than 4 million views on X/Twitter. A Transport for London (TFL) spokesperson shared its outrage over the footage.
