According to the Ministry of Health, 1,221 persons in Bangladesh were diagnosed with dengue fever in the last 24 hours, which is the most cases in a single day this year. Eight more people lost their lives to the mosquito-borne illness during that time, bringing the total number of fatalities this year to 158. According to the ministry, the number of dengue cases in Bangladesh increased to 29,786 as a result of the new infections. To combat the increasing number of dengue infections, Bangladeshi health authorities have tightened their efforts to prevent mosquito reproduction and carry out anti-larval operations.
