Dr. Yunus to Hold Meetings at Hotel Lobby on Tuesday

Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the head of Bangladesh's interim government, is scheduled to arrive at Heathrow Airport at 7:30 AM London time on Tuesday.

Akbar Hossain, Press Minister at the Bangladesh High Commission in London, informed the Daily Dazzling Dawn on Monday afternoon that Abida Islam, Bangladesh's High Commissioner to the UK, and representatives of the British monarch will welcome him at the airport. Hossain further stated that Dr. Yunus will hold several meetings in the hotel lobby on Tuesday. Additional engagements are expected to be added to the Chief Adviser's schedule.

Sources indicate that after arriving at a Central London hotel from the airport and having breakfast, the Chief Adviser has a packed schedule of meetings. Among these, members of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Bangladesh are expected to meet him at the hotel. The group is chaired by British MP Apsana Begum, who is of Bangladeshi origin. Following these meetings, time has been allocated for interviews with multiple media outlets.

The Chief Adviser's Press Secretary may hold a press briefing in London on Tuesday.During this briefing, the Press Secretary might address the details and timing of the meeting between the Chief Adviser and BNP's acting chairman, Tarique Rahman. A statement regarding the widely discussed viral letter from MP Tulip Siddiq requesting a meeting with the Chief Adviser may also be made during the briefing. However, it is almost certain that Tulip Siddiq will not be granted a meeting.

For security reasons, the Bangladesh High Commission has declined to disclose the name of the Chief Adviser's hotel.

This visit has generated significant interest within the British-Bangladeshi community. However, the civic reception and exchange of views with Bangladeshis have been canceled. The Awami League has announced a continuous program of protests. Meanwhile, two Bangladeshi groups have declared their intention to be present in support of Dr. Yunus, while the BNP has remained silent.

An audience has been arranged for the Chief Adviser with King Charles III at Buckingham Palace, during which the monarch will bestow upon him the King Charles Harmony Award.
