A day-long free medical camp was organized by the Late Shah Hasan Ali Trust in Rajnagar, Moulvibazar, with the aim of bringing healthcare services to the doorsteps of underprivileged and general people deprived of medical facilities.
The camp was held on Wednesday (October 22) at the residence of Shah Suleman Ali in Uttorbhag Union of the upazila, from 10 a.m. throughout the day. Around five hundred people received free health check-ups and eye treatments during the event.
The chief guest of the program was Additional Secretary and former Director General of the ICT Directorate, Bonomali Bhowmik.
Under the overall management of public health researcher and community paramedic Shah Sabir Ali, special guests included Dr. Sadiq Ahmad, Secretary of Moulvibazar BNSB Eye Hospital; Md. Zilal Uddin, former Principal of Rajnagar Government Degree College; Abdul Wadud, Head Teacher of Bimalacharan Multipurpose High School; social workers Nazrul Islam, Rakhi Bhowmik, Dr Sabbasachi, Dr Al-Beruni and Sajjadur Rahman Shimul; Ali Hossain, In-Charge of Rajnagar Fire Service; and journalists Tuhinur Rashid Jubair and Kamran Ahmed, among others.
With the support of Moulvibazar BNSB Eye Hospital, the camp provided not only eye care but also general health check-ups, treatment, and medical consultations for various illnesses. During the event, 40 patients were referred for cataract surgery.
