Sohma S. Saeed Makes History as First Bangladeshi-American Judge Elected to NY Supreme Court – Judge Sohma S. Born in the Tangail district of Bangladesh, Judge Saeed currently resides in Queens, New York, with her husband, Mizan Chowdhury, who played a pivotal role in her campaign. Mizan Chowdhury, born in Moulvibazar, Bangladesh, is an IT expert, political strategist, and community activist in New York State.

A Legacy of Leadership and Commitment to Justice-Judge Saeed is renowned for her unwavering commitment to diversity, representation, and justice. She has held several key leadership positions within New York's legal arena, including Co-Chair of the NYC Equal Justice Implementation Committee (EJIC) in Queens, a member of the NYC Access to Justice Committee, and a Board Member of the Asian American Judges Association of New York. Notably, she also served as the first South Asian and Muslim woman President of the Queens County Women's Bar Association.
