Airline Halts Operations With Immediate Effect

All Blue Islands flights have been cancelled after the airline announced it is suspending operations with immediate effect.

The Jersey-based carrier said it is currently “reviewing its options.”

Passengers who were due to travel have been advised not to go to the airport unless they have already arranged alternative flights with another airline. Medical transfer passengers will be handled separately via the Health Department.

Treasury Minister Elaine Millar said the government is prepared to support Jersey-based passengers.
In her statement, she expressed disappointment at the suspension, adding that her thoughts were with affected employees and disrupted travellers.

She emphasised that air connectivity is crucial for the island, and that contingency plans will allow key routes—especially those needed for medical services—to be restored quickly. Ports of Jersey is offering assistance to passengers impacted by the cancellations.

The minister reiterated that anyone booked with Blue Islands should avoid the airport and instead rebook with another airline, with further guidance available at the Jersey Airport website.

All medical transfer journeys will be coordinated through the Health Department. She added that while Ports of Jersey manages the immediate fallout, the government is working with another airline to secure long-term, reliable air connections for Jersey.

A spokesperson for Blue Islands said the airline “deeply regrets” having to halt operations after 26 years of serving the Channel Islands. They stated that despite constructive discussions with the Jersey government, they were informed that no further support would be provided, forcing the airline to suspend flights while it considers next steps and how to assist customers, staff, and partners.
