Edinburgh Airport Halts All Flights Amid Major Air Traffic Control IT Failure

All flights at Edinburgh Airport have been suspended following an IT failure impacting its air traffic control provider.

In a statement, the airport confirmed: “No flights are currently departing or arriving at Edinburgh Airport. Our teams are working to fix the issue as quickly as possible.”

According to Sky News, there is currently no estimated timeframe for when operations will resume.

Passengers have been advised to check directly with their airlines for updated flight information.

Edinburgh Trams also issued a notice on X (formerly Twitter), warning travelers heading to the airport that no flights are operating at the moment.

Edinburgh Airport typically handles around 43,000 passengers daily and is served by 37 airlines connecting to 155 destinations.
