British Boy Stabbed to Death in Portugal

A 13-year-old British boy, Alfie Hallett, was tragically killed in his home in the Portuguese village of Casais following a domestic violence incident. The suspected attacker, a former partner of the boy’s mother, reportedly stabbed the teenager before turning the knife on himself and intentionaly causing a gas explosion.

Local police (GNR) discovered the boy’s mother restrained and injured; she was subsequently hospitalized. Both Alfie and the assailant were found with fatal stab wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene. The perpetrator had a prior criminal record for homicide, and the family had been flagged for domestic abuse issues in recent years. Alfie, a passionate basketball player, was honored by his local team, Sport Club Operário Cem Soldos, in a moving social media tribute. The British Foreign Office is currently providing support to the family.
