London police have arrested a 13-year-old boy on suspicion of attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed two fellow students at a school. The Metropolitan Police confirmed that its counter-terrorism unit is leading the investigation.
The stabbing took place at Kingsbury High School in Brent, northwest London. Two boys, aged 12 and 13, were injured and taken to hospital, where they are reported to be in serious condition.
Detective Chief Superintendent Luke Williams said the 13-year-old suspect remains in custody while officers continue their inquiries.
The incident comes as the UK government faces mounting pressure to address rising youth knife crime, following a 2024 attack in Southport in which teenager Axel Rudakubana targeted a Taylor Swift-themed children’s dance event, killing three girls and injuring 10 others.
