Brother Recovered from Abbey River 48 Hours After Sister Scarlett's Funeral

Limerick’s period of mourning has deepened following an emergency recovery operation that has left a local family twice bereaved in a single week.

A coordinated response involving the Limerick Marine Search and Rescue Service and the Irish Coast Guard resulted in the recovery of a man in his 30s. The individual was subsequently identified as Jason Faulkner, who only 48 hours prior had been present at the funeral of his sister, Scarlett. He was transported to University Hospital Limerick, where he was officially pronounced deceased.

Official Status of the Investigation

In the hours following the recovery, authorities have maintained a posture of procedural diligence. A Garda spokesperson confirmed that a post-mortem examination will be conducted to clarify the circumstances surrounding the death.
