A man who carried out a series of indecent acts on the London Underground has been jailed after targeting multiple women during a prolonged incident lasting around 90 minutes.

Ayman Yanoussi, 21, from Newham, was first noticed at Upminster Bridge Underground station at approximately 11:20am on December 28. Witnesses reported seeing him sitting on a platform bench with his trousers lowered while behaving inappropriately. When a woman attempted to record the incident to report it, he quickly covered himself and moved out of sight.

He later boarded a District line train heading toward Wimbledon, where his behavior escalated. Shortly after boarding, he sat beside a woman and exposed himself. When she moved away, he repeated the act with other female passengers, sitting near them and exposing himself again. This pattern continued multiple times as the train traveled through stations including Elm Park, causing several women to leave the carriage.

Yanoussi continued moving between trains, repeatedly engaging in the same conduct until around 12:51pm, when a passenger alerted staff. The train was stopped at Hammersmith station, but he fled before officers arrived. However, a British Transport Police officer soon located him at a nearby bus stop, where he was arrested.

While being transported into custody, Yanoussi reportedly hit his head against the police van wall and expressed regret for his actions.

Further investigation revealed he had recently been subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, issued less than two weeks earlier, following a suspended sentence for previous offenses involving voyeurism.

At Inner London Crown Court on April 16, Yanoussi was sentenced to 14 months in prison after admitting to multiple counts of exposure, breaching the prevention order, and possession of cannabis.

Detective Constable Ian Hourihan described the actions as deeply disturbing, highlighting the impact on victims and the seriousness of such offenses. He also praised the courage of those who reported the incidents, which helped authorities bring the case forward.

Police believe additional victims may not yet have come forward and are encouraging anyone affected or who witnessed similar behavior to report it.
