The sudden arrest of a young Kent woman in the United Arab Emirates has sparked an international legal crisis over human rights, domestic violence, and judicial transparency.

The case involves 23-year-old Brooke George, a TikTok content creator with over 98,000 followers and a former retail worker from Gravesend. Ms George remains heavily detained at the notorious Bur Dubai Police Station—a facility previously scrutinised following the tragic death of British national Lee Bradley Brown. Documents and testimonies obtained by journalists for daily dazzling dawn reveal that Ms George was intercepted by security officials at Dubai International Airport on Monday, 22 June 2026. Witnesses reported she was in a profound state of shock, bearing visible facial lacerations, an eye swollen shut, and severe body bruising.

The fatal encounter traces back to an online relationship initiated on Facebook with 26-year-old Bill Treeby, a resident of Rainham. What initially seemed a dream romance turned dark during Ms George's second visit to the Gulf state. Her family expressed deep concern over a sudden, unexplained shift in Mr Treeby's behaviour. It emerged that he had arranged a bikini-clad professional photography shoot during her first trip, and subsequently booked her a restrictive one-way ticket for her return. Friends note that Ms George had privately communicated that "things weren't right" and that she felt an urgent need to escape. She also reportedly discovered deeply disturbing videos stored on his computer before the atmosphere turned physically hostile.

The situation reached a violent climax after an evening at Caffreys Bar in Jumeirah Village. According to accounts provided by her mother, Thereza George, an intoxicated Mr Treeby launched a physical assault inside a vehicle that continued aggressively once they returned to the apartment. Telephone logs capture a panicked call home where the young woman wept uncontrollably while being repeatedly punched.

Ms George has been formally charged with premeditated murder, an offence that carries capital punishment by a firing squad under United Arab Emirates law. Legal representatives have raised alarming allegations regarding her treatment in custody, stating that she was forced to strip completely naked in front of male officers without any female staff present.

Her family and human rights advocates are urgently calling for her release on bail, immediate medical attention, and an impartial investigation.
