In the early morning hours of July 12, 2026, a tragic incident occurred at a residence on Uxbridge Road in Hayes, west London, claiming the life of 24-year-old Kirandeep Kaur. Kaur, who arrived in the UK on a student visa in 2024 after graduating from Buckinghamshire New University, was fatally attacked inside her home. The incident took place while her husband and three-month-old daughter were present.
According to details presented in court, 44-year-old Daniel Sean James allegedly entered the home armed with a knife shortly before 8:00 AM. Investigators revealed that prior to entering the property, the suspect had allegedly attacked a young man in his 20s in a nearby street, inflicting back injuries. The second victim was hospitalized and is expected to recover.
Prosecutors stated at the Old Bailey that after the attack inside the residence, the suspect attempted to escape by leaping from a window, breaking both ankles in the fall before being detained by police nearby. Metropolitan Police confirmed that the suspect and the victims were complete strangers. James has been formally charged with murder, attempted murder, and possession of a bladed article. He remains remanded in custody with a plea hearing scheduled for October 1 and a provisional trial set for April 2027.
