The South Asian Football Federation (SAFF), together with the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) and TECNO Bangladesh, has officially launched the TECNO SAFF Championship Bangladesh 2026 at a grand ceremony held at the Sheraton Dhaka, marking the beginning of a new chapter for South Asian football.

The launch event brought together senior football officials from across South Asia, representatives of all SAFF Member Associations, national team captains, corporate partners, media representatives, digital creators, and invited guests, highlighting the growing anticipation for the region’s biggest international football tournament.

The ceremony began with opening remarks by SAFF General Secretary Purushottam Kattel, who introduced the vision for the championship and officially announced TECNO Bangladesh as the tournament’s Official Title Sponsor. He said the partnership would help strengthen football across South Asia while increasing the competition’s visibility and commercial growth.

One of the evening’s highlights was the unveiling of the official TECNO SAFF Championship Bangladesh 2026 logo, revealed through a special audiovisual presentation, officially launching the tournament’s brand identity.

SAFF and TECNO Bangladesh also signed the Official Title Sponsorship Agreement, with the document exchanged between Purushottam Kattel and Rezwanul Hoque, CEO of Ismartu Technology BD Limited, representing TECNO Bangladesh. The partnership aims to enhance fan engagement and expand the championship’s reach throughout the region.

The event also featured a special video message from Guo Lei, General Manager of TECNO Global, who reaffirmed the company's commitment to supporting football as a platform for inspiring young talent, connecting communities, and promoting regional unity.

Speaking on behalf of the title sponsor, Rezwanul Hoque expressed TECNO Bangladesh’s pride in partnering with SAFF and pledged continued support for the development of football across South Asia.

Representing the host nation, Bangladesh Football Federation Vice President Fahad Karim welcomed delegates from all participating countries and described Bangladesh’s hosting of the championship as a major milestone. He said the tournament would showcase both South Asia’s football talent and Bangladesh’s ability to host major international sporting events.

Guests were also shown the tournament’s official Kick-Off audiovisual presentation, celebrating Bangladesh as host while highlighting the participating nations and the shared journey toward the championship.

The formal ceremony concluded with a group photograph featuring SAFF leaders, BFF officials, representatives of all participating football associations, and TECNO Bangladesh executives, symbolising regional unity through sport.

The evening continued with media interviews, networking sessions and content creation activities, giving journalists, broadcasters and digital creators the opportunity to engage with tournament organisers and partners ahead of the competition.

Representatives from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka attended the launch alongside national team captains, federation officials, corporate partners and invited guests.

As South Asia’s premier international football tournament, the TECNO SAFF Championship Bangladesh 2026 aims to bring together millions of football fans across the region while promoting sporting excellence, friendship and cultural unity. The new title sponsorship marks an important partnership between SAFF, BFF and TECNO, with a shared goal of inspiring the next generation of footballers and supporters.
