A chilling picture is beginning to emerge in Renfrewshire after it was revealed that 35-year-old Stacy Mair was murdered by her estranged husband just weeks after a court formally ordered him to stay clear of her.
Police Scotland launched a homicide inquiry when Stacy’s body was discovered alongside that of her estranged husband, 43-year-old Jim Mair, at a secluded rural cottage on Corsliehill Road on the outskirts of Houston, near Johnstone.
Emerging legal details reveal a history of domestic intervention prior to the tragedy. Jim Mair had recently appeared in court, where strict legal directives were handed down instructing him to keep away from Stacy following a bitter breakdown in their marriage.
