Who Killed Nicole Beling? Croydon Community Demands Answers as Police Probe Unexplained Death

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command are appealing for public information following the death of 60-year-old Nicole Beling at her home in Croydon.

The investigation remains active and ongoing as forensic teams work to establish the circumstances surrounding her death, which is currently being treated as unexplained.

Inside the Investigation

Police were alerted at approximately 00:05 AM on Friday, 17 July, after a family member reported Ms Beling missing. Graded as a high-risk missing person, officers attended her residence in Dittoncroft Close, Croydon, later that morning to conduct inquiries into her disappearance.

Following a search of the property, officers discovered Ms Beling's body. She was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Her family is currently being supported by specialist officers.

A 61-year-old man was arrested at the scene on July 17 on suspicion of murder and subsequently released under investigation. He was further arrested on Saturday, 1 August, and has since been released on bail while inquiries continue.

Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell, leading the inquiry, confirmed that officers maintain an open mind regarding the circumstances.

"A formal murder investigation has not been launched at this time and we are keeping an open mind as to the circumstances surrounding Nicole's sad death," said DCI Foxwell. "We want to hear from anyone who knew Nicole or may have information that could assist the investigation – and help us find answers for her family."

Public Appeal

The cause of death remains under forensic investigation. Police are urging anyone who knew Ms Beling or noticed unusual activity near Dittoncroft Close around July 17 to come forward.
