Bradford Man Rehan Ali Jailed for Six Years Over Child Sex Offences

Following his six-year prison sentence at Bradford Crown Court, local law enforcement agencies and child protection monitors are set to enforce strict multi-agency public protection arrangements (MAPPA) to oversee 24-year-old Rehan Ali upon his eventual release.

Ali, residing at Falsgrave Avenue, Bradford, admitted to multiple child sexual offences that took place between October and November 2024. His conviction followed an intricate decoy profile operation conducted by an online child abuse protection group, which intercepted his illegal activities before further harm could be inflicted.

The court heard details of how Ali used popular social media platforms, including Snapchat, to target and contact two young girls, aged seven and eight. In a separate incident, Ali attempted to groom an online persona he believed to be a 13-year-old girl via Facebook and WhatsApp, engaging in explicit communication and attempting to incite sexual activity. The profile was, in fact, operated by an online child safety group working to expose predators operating on digital platforms.

Prior to sentencing, Ali entered guilty pleas to two counts of inciting a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity, making an indecent photograph of a child, attempting to incite a girl aged 13 to 15 to engage in sexual activity, and attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.

Under this order, Ali will face severe restrictions regarding internet usage, digital device ownership, and contact with minors. Furthermore, he has been placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely, ensuring lifelong monitoring by West Yorkshire authorities.
