A four-year-old boy has died following a collision involving a car and an off-road bike in Newark, Nottinghamshire, after emergency services were called to Churchill Drive at about 18:00 BST on Sunday. The child, who was travelling as a passenger on the off-road bike, was declared dead at the scene as Nottinghamshire Police launched an investigation into the circumstances of the crash.
A 24-year-old man who was riding the same off-road bike suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital. He has also been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
The fatal collision has prompted an appeal for witnesses and anyone with relevant information, dashcam footage or other recordings to contact investigators.
