A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a fatal stabbing in Birmingham that left a man in his 30s dead. The suspect was detained on Sunday night when police stopped a vehicle in Staffordshire, as detectives continued their investigation into the attack in the Hodge Hill area.

Two other men were arrested during the same police operation and are being held on suspicion of assisting an offender. West Midlands Police said all three remained in custody for questioning.

The investigation follows an incident on Ashville Avenue in Hodge Hill, Birmingham, where a man in his 30s was found with stab wounds.

He was taken to hospital for treatment but died on Friday, three days after he was discovered seriously injured. Police have not publicly identified the victim as enquiries into the circumstances surrounding his death continue.
