A 21-year-old man has been charged with murder after a 19-year-old woman was found with gunshot injuries at a home in Finchley, north London. Emergency services were called to the property at around 00:15 on 8 June following reports of gunshots, but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Metropolitan Police launched a murder investigation following the discovery. The suspect, Jamie Duncan, has now been charged with murder and three counts of possessing a firearm.
Duncan was arrested in Spain on Sunday, 23 August, after police appealed for information about his whereabouts. He subsequently appeared at the Old Bailey on Tuesday, 1 September, and was remanded in custody.
Police were called to an address in Finchley during the early hours of 8 June after reports of gunshots.
Officers and emergency services attended the property, where the 19-year-old woman was found with gunshot injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The exact circumstances surrounding the woman's death have not been fully established. A post-mortem examination is expected to assist investigators in determining the precise cause of death.
