Twelve members of an organised crime syndicate responsible for an industrial-scale Class A narcotics and illicit money laundering network have been jailed for a combined total exceeding one hundred years at Bradford Crown Court. An extensive covert operation spearheaded by West Yorkshire Police’s Serious and Organised Crime Unit systematically dismantled the sophisticated network, which moved tens of millions of pounds worth of illicit drugs across Yorkshire, Humberside, and broader regions of northern England. Investigative teams established that the criminal enterprise trafficked more than 135 kilograms of cocaine and heroin, with specialist enforcement officers intercepting and seizing 55 kilograms of high-purity contraband alongside substantial volumes of illicit cash before wholesale distribution could be finalised.
Daily Dazzling Dawn understands that the extensive operation was orchestrated by 35-year-old Idris Khan of Ashgrove, Bradford, who directed logistics as the ringleader of the criminal enterprise. Khan maintained a compartmentalised structure, relying on trusted regional couriers to transport multi-kilogram consignments across strategic road corridors. Among his principal operatives were 23-year-old Akif Hashmi and 27-year-old Ibrahim Sajad, both tasked with regional transit duties for high-value wholesale consignments. The syndicate’s distribution chain fractured in August 2025 when officers intercepted Hashmi in possession of 20 kilograms of cocaine, 23 kilograms of heroin, and three wholesale bags of crack cocaine, carrying an estimated street valuation of £4.3 million. Hashmi was apprehended alongside his 24-year-old spouse, Kiran Mahmood, who was subsequently convicted for her active logistical assistance.

The syndicate also sustained high-volume commercial transactions with established external syndicates. Inquiries identified 38-year-old Ibras Khan of Queensbury as a prominent wholesale purchaser for the enterprise. Working alongside his designated associate, 35-year-old Ataf Ali, Ibras Khan coordinated the acquisition and transfer of 31 kilograms of heroin and cocaine across a targeted eight-week timeframe. Telecommunications intelligence extracted from encrypted devices seized during Ibras Khan’s arrest in April 2025 demonstrated that he dealt directly with the gang’s primary leadership. Evidential logs confirmed that between August 2024 and April 2025, Ibras Khan oversaw the trafficking of over 52 kilograms of illicit substances while laundering a verified £364,992 in illicit financial revenue.
Appearing before Bradford Crown Court on Monday 12 October, ringleader Idris Khan received a 16-year prison term after being convicted of conspiracy to supply cocaine and heroin. Wholesale customer Ibras Khan and co-conspirator Ataf Ali each received 14 years and nine months behind bars. Transit courier Akif Hashmi was handed 13 years and three months, while his spouse Kiran Mahmood received three years and nine months. Courier Ibrahim Sajad received seven years and six months. Huddersfield-based conspirator Moshin Mian was sentenced to 12 years and four months, while Sheffield distributor Noor Hamid Khan received six years and three months. Additional terms were handed to Muhammed Chaudhary of Ashford, who received four years and six months, alongside Bradford residents Mohammed Usman, aged 30, and Mohammed Usman, aged 44, who each received five years and three months. Blackpool associate Michael Littlewood was handed ten years and six months for conspiracy to supply cocaine, possession of criminal property, and possession with intent to supply.
Judicial disclosures and official case files confirm that eleven of the twelve convicted defendants are British Asians of Pakistani and South Asian heritage (often described within community contexts as Desi), while co-defendant Michael Littlewood is of White British background. Case filings establish all twelve individuals by their verified UK domestic residences, with no overseas nationality claims recorded throughout the proceedings. Two additional conspirators, Moshin Bangash of Bradford and Lukman Patel of Leicester, have entered guilty pleas or been convicted at trial and are scheduled to receive formal sentencing at Bradford Crown Court on Wednesday 28 October.
Speaking to Daily Dazzling Dawn, senior investigative officers highlighted that the systematic removal of the syndicate severs crucial financial and logistical channels that support violent street-level criminality. Detective Inspector Kevin Daly of West Yorkshire Police’s Force Precision team observed that the prosecution successfully disrupted individuals who amassed vast personal wealth by inflicting harm on vulnerable communities. Regional police commanders reiterated that focused operations dismantling organised crime networks and seizing illicit criminal profits will continue as a leading enforcement priority throughout the operational year.
