A 22-year-old Cheshire man has been sentenced to 21 years behind bars at Chester Crown Court after admitting to a sustained campaign of rape, severe violence, and coercive control against two women. Jacob Evans, of French Lane in Baddington near Crewe, was handed an extended determinate sentence comprising 15 years in custody and a further six years on extended licence on Monday 12 October 2026. The custodial term concludes an extensive investigation by Cheshire Constabulary into predatory offending that spanned a four-year period between 2021 and 2025.
Daily Dazzling Dawn understands that Evans altered his stance only when faced with the immediate commencement of his trial, entering guilty pleas on the first morning of proceedings. His convictions encompass four counts of rape, sexual assault by penetration, two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, two counts of making threats with a bladed weapon, and two counts of engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour. Alongside the custodial term, the judiciary imposed indefinite restraining orders preventing Evans from ever contacting either complainant again.
The court heard comprehensive evidence detailing how Evans subjected both victims to repetitive physical violence, severe verbal degradation, and pervasive psychological manipulation. One complainant recounted multiple incidents where Evans threatened her life with a knife, while both women disclosed repeated rapes and non-consensual sexual acts enforced through explicit intimidation. Beyond physical violence, Evans exerted total dominion over their daily lives, routinely seizing and examining their mobile phones to isolate them from external support networks.
Financial exploitation formed a central pillar of the coercive control documented during the proceedings. Daily Dazzling Dawn learned that Evans coerced one victim into permitting him to drive her vehicle while uninsured, subsequently forcing her to liquidate personal possessions to finance his lifestyle. The funds generated through these compelled sales were channelled into designer sportswear, alcohol, a brand-new iPhone, and an Apple Watch. Soon after acquiring the premium electronics, Evans sold the devices and retained the cash proceeds for himself.
Cheshire Constabulary arrested and interviewed Evans twice after the two women came forward to report the offences. During formal questioning under caution, Evans displayed open contempt for the criminal justice process, offering no-comment responses and telling investigating detectives that he remained unconcerned by the allegations. His initial refusal to admit culpability forced the complainants to prepare for a contested trial before his late guilty plea averted a prolonged courtroom confrontation.
Following the sentencing, Detective Constable Toby Hills, of Crewe Reactive CID, commended the resolve displayed by both complainants in presenting evidence against a dangerous domestic abuser. Daily Dazzling Dawn learned that investigators uncovered a volatile offender whose escalating conduct posed a severe and enduring hazard to women across Cheshire. Detective Constable Hills noted that the complainants demonstrated immense willpower by revisiting their trauma to ensure their abuser could not target further members of the public.
The imposition of an extended sentence reflects statutory judicial provisions designed to manage dangerous offenders who demonstrate a significant risk of causing serious harm. Under the terms of the order issued at Chester Crown Court, Evans will serve at least two-thirds of his 15-year custodial term before the Parole Board considers his suitability for release. Once discharged, he will remain subject to strict monitoring conditions throughout the six-year extended licence window, facing immediate recall to custody if he breaches any licence terms or violates the indefinite restraining orders.
