The police arrested two men and three women with three firearms in a raid on a house in Manchester's Indian-surouded Moss Side area.
Among them two males, aged 17 and 57, and three women, aged 19, 23, and 51, have been taken into police custody. They were arrested for firearms offences after officers raided the property on Horace Barnes Close.
With the rise in crime across the country, the police have become increasingly active in the use of illegal weapons.
The suspected firearms – a handgun and two shotguns – have now been sent off for forensic and expert examination, to assess their classification and viability.
