In a few days, the "entire nation" in the UK will experience a sub-zero deep freeze, according to cold weather maps. Speaking out, meteorologist Jim Dale claimed that the current variable weather was a part of a "transition zone" for the weather.
Speaking out on Sunday, Mr. Dale stated: "There's a chance for icy conditions; it's definitely colder." chilly morning and within the usual bounds of what one may anticipate for this season. Pretty nice during the day in the sun and chilly at night, but probably nothing more.
"The reason the winds are dying out is because the air pressure is rising from the west. This is the transition zone where we’re getting a bit of high pressure into the early part of next week. Once you’re out of the northerly wind then it will feel pleasant enough.”
Mr Dale went on and said the reason for the change in conditions was “because of the position of the high pressure” and that the weather would otherwise be “settled and tranquil”. Mr Dale also added: “It’s steady as you go coming out of the wet weather going into something drier.
"There’s no air stream coming out of the south so we won’t see a heatwave because there’s no southerly drag.” WX Charts, which uses Met Desk data, has released maps and charts using the projections and explained how there will be a dramatic weather shift with sub-zero conditions within days.
It follows a 72-hour three-day mini-heatwave sweeping the country this weekend, with the south and London experiencing the best of the weather. But going forward, Aberdeen and Inverness look set to be the worst-hit by the deterioration of conditions, followed by Newcastle in the North East and also the North West in Manchester.
Temperatures will plunge from around April 18, forecasters have said.
