Organized gangs are attacking Bangladeshi and Asian people's house across Britain with the target of gold theft. Bangladeshi and Asian women in Britain buy huge amounts of gold as the price of gold continues to rise and there is no other safe place to invest and as a hobby.
British Police have urged British-Bangladeshi and Asian communities to remain vigilant after a spate of burglaries targeting family gold.
There have been 19 incidents in the Eastleigh area this year, Hampshire police said.
One of the victim told, she was woken by two men in her bedroom, "going through my wardrobe". She said £20,000 worth of gold jewellery was stolen.
Ch Insp Matt Paling, Eastleigh district commander, said the burglaries were "a very organised crime".
In 2023, there were 13, totalling more than £330,000 in stolen gold. Surrey Police reported there had been 23 incidents of gold burglaries so far this year (January to April), with a total of more than £110,000 worth of gold taken.
