Toddler Flown to Hospital After Second-Floor Fall
After falling from a second-floor window at his house, a toddler needed to be evacuated to the hospital.
Following the Tuesday fall at a home on Chesterfield's Harehill Road, the 20-month-old child sustained injuries.
Around eleven in the morning, emergency personnel hurried to the scene, and an Air Ambulance took the toddler to Sheffield Children's Hospital.
Two persons were detained, according to Derbyshire Police, on suspicion of neglecting a child.
Since then, the guy, 24, and woman, 20, have been freed on bail as the force looked into the matter further.
It is not known if the toddler is still in hospital, but police said his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
Derbyshire Police's latest statement said: 'Two people have been arrested after a child fell from a second-floor window in Chesterfield.
'A 20-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of child neglect, following reports that a 20-month-old boy fell from a second-floor window in Chesterfield at 11am on Tuesday.
'The boy's injuries are not believed to be life threatening or life changing.
'The arrested pair have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.'
The force said on Tuesday: 'Emergency services were called at 11am to reports that a 20-month-old boy had fallen from a second-floor window in Chesterfield.
The young patient, whose residence is in the town's Harehill Road neighborhood, was transported by air ambulance to Sheffield Children's Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment for injuries deemed non-life-threatening or transformative.
"Police will still be in the area this afternoon as investigations into the incident's circumstances continue."
