Met Police Car Strikes 16-Year-Old Girl in East London, Teen Hospitalized
As a marked Metropolitan Police vehicle was responding to an incident in east London this afternoon, it struck a teenage girl, who was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
On Monday, September 16, at approximately 12:55 p.m., a horrifying occurrence occurred on Bow Road in Bow. After emergency personnel arrived on the scene in a flash, the 16-year-old girl received medical attention before being transported to a hospital for additional evaluation.
The road is stopped until an investigation is conducted, and the cops in the involved vehicle did not sustain any injuries.
"At about 12.55pm on Monday, September 16, a marked police vehicle was involved in a collision with a female pedestrian in Bow Road, Bow," a Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said in reference to the incident.
"After calling the London Ambulance Service (LAS), paramedics evaluated the 16-year-old female on the scene. LAS brought her to the hospital for additional evaluation, and we are still awaiting an update on her condition.
"There were no injuries to the police officers inside the car. The road is still blocked as the matter is being looked into.
"The police car was headed to an incident at the time of the crash. It has been communicated to the Directorate of Professional Standards."
