Co-op reveals plans to begin 24-hour delivery service in UK

Co-op has declared that it will begin offering grocery delivery around-the-clock in order to meet the growing needs of parents, shift workers, and late-night partygoers. In Manchester, Leeds, and London, the new service will debut in September of this year through Deliveroo, Just Eat, and Uber Eats. In these areas, the grocery store said that due of the local population, a concentration of delivery drivers, and the presence of 24/7 staffing for replenishment, there is already a significant online demand during non-traditional hours.

According to a survey, about 40% of consumers who use rapid delivery services said they would choose the 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. option if it was offered. It increased to half of customers between the ages of 18 and 44, with the 18 to 24 age group anticipated to be the most devoted to the service. According to the poll, an estimated six million persons in the UK thought that their work schedule or shift was the primary reason they would use a 24-hour service.

Co-op e-commerce director, Chris Conway, said: “With a convenience store based in every postal code area in the UK, we’re able identify and meet the demands of shoppers at local level which enables us provide solutions like our new 24-hour delivery service.

“We’re always looking at ways to evolve our online offer to provide the very best service for shoppers, whenever and at whatever time they choose to shop with us.”
