Spike in Burglaries Targeting Asian Gold in Bradford
Police are issuing alerts on targeted burglaries. Asian gold has been stolen in 28 thefts that have occurred in Bradford East, South, and West within the past four months.
"We have seen a significant increase in the number of residential burglaries where Asian gold has been stolen," West Yorkshire Police Detective Inspector Dennise Bell stated.
According to our investigation, the individuals are targeting properties while riding e-bikes around the Bradford area.
"Officers are requesting that anyone with information about anything unusual come forward.
"Any doorbell footage that would show these bikers passing your property would also be appreciated.
"Looks like the suspects are slamming the door's lock.
"We would like to take this opportunity to remind residents about making sure that they have an up-to-date anti-snap lock on all doors.
"Also ensure that windows and doors are secured, and valuables are locked away in a safe place.
"Our investigation into the residential burglaries remains ongoing."
Anyone with information on the crimes should contact police on 101, quoting 13240514228.
Two males, aged 15 and 16, have been arrested on suspicion of burglary as part of the investigation and remain in police custody.
