A wave of warm weather is expected to sweep across parts of the UK in a mini-heatwave, but many regions are likely to miss out. The hot spell, forecasted around May 1st to May 3rd, will bring temperatures in the mid-20s for some, particularly in East Anglia and the South East.

However, not all of England will feel the heat. Areas expected to miss the warmer weather include counties such as Devon, Dorset, Somerset, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Cheshire, Derbyshire, and much of Yorkshire (North, West, East, and South). Other cooler regions include Durham, Westmorland, Cumberland, Lancashire, Northumberland, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, and the Isle of Wight.

According to a Netweather map, temperatures in the South East could rise to 22°C, while most of England will see highs in the upper teens.

In the near term, Easter Sunday is expected to bring the best weather to northern parts of the country, while the South may experience showers. By Easter Monday, rainfall could become more widespread across England and Wales, with the possibility of thunderstorms, according to Netweather TV.

James Madden from Exacta Weather noted that while Easter weekend should be mostly sunny, showers—especially in southern and western areas, as well as Ireland—could appear from Good Friday into the early part of the Bank Holiday weekend.

He also mentioned that major weather models have moved away from earlier predictions of snow or wintry conditions in late April, though this could still change in the coming days. Madden warned of continued unsettled conditions, especially in southern and western parts of the UK, due to the potential passage of more low-pressure systems.
