Channel 4 has revealed the cast of the upcoming 19th season of its hit comedy game show Taskmaster, and for the first time, the show will include a prominent American star among its contestants.
The new season is set to premiere on 1 May 2025, with hosts Greg Davies and Alex Horne returning to lead the chaotic and hilarious challenges that fans have come to love. This marks the first full season since the New Year’s special, which featured public figures such as finance expert Martin Lewis, ex-footballer David James, singer Melanie Blatt, actress Sue Johnston, and Professor Hannah Fry.
Who's in the Series 19 Line-Up?
Jason Mantzoukas
The most talked-about addition this season is US actor and comedian Jason Mantzoukas. Known for his energetic and offbeat comedic style, Mantzoukas has appeared in popular shows like The League, Parks and Recreation, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and The Good Place. His film credits include The Dictator, How to Be Single, and The Lego Batman Movie. Before making it big in comedy, he even studied religious music in North Africa and the Middle East. Mantzoukas’ casting was teased earlier by co-creator Alex Horne, who mentioned that the show was venturing into international territory for the first time with a well-known overseas star.
Rosie Ramsey
Podcaster and presenter Rosie Ramsey joins the competition, following in the footsteps of her husband, comedian Chris Ramsey, who was a runner-up in Taskmaster season 13. Rosie co-hosts the hit podcast Shagged Married Annoyed with Chris and also presented The Chris & Rosie Ramsey Show on the BBC. She’s been branching out on her own in recent years with appearances on Strictly Come Dancing's Christmas special and Comic Relief.
Fatiha El-Ghorri
Stand-up comic and writer Fatiha El-Ghorri will also be taking part. Known for her bold humor and presence on panel shows, she previously appeared on David Mitchell’s challenge series Outsiders. Expressing her excitement on Instagram, she called her Taskmaster casting a “bucket list” moment and thanked her fellow contestants.
Mathew Baynton
Another familiar face is actor and comedian Mathew Baynton. Best known for his work on Horrible Histories, Ghosts, and The Wrong Mans, Baynton has been a staple of British comedy. He’s also known to fans of Gavin & Stacey as Smithy’s colleague. Sharing the news on Instagram, Baynton said it “feels a bit like a dream” to be part of the show he’s long admired.
Stevie Martin
Rounding out the cast is actor, writer, and podcaster Stevie Martin. She’s appeared in comedy series like Starstruck and Breeders and has been featured on shows like 8 Out Of 10 Cats and The Mash Report. She's also known for her podcasts Nobody Panic and Might Delete Later. Martin shared her enthusiasm on Instagram, saying, “will never get my head round this but I got to do series 19 of @taskmaster and isn’t that absolutely mad.”
With this new mix of seasoned comedians, rising stars, and international talent, Taskmaster Series 19 promises another wildly entertaining run. The show returns to Channel 4 on 1 May 2025.
