President Donald Trump stated that he plans to “significantly increase trade” with both India and Pakistan and expressed his intention to seek a resolution to the Kashmir conflict.

In a late-night Truth Social post on Saturday, Trump credited the U.S. for facilitating a ceasefire agreement between the two nations and commended their leadership for reaching the deal.

“Although it wasn’t even discussed, I intend to increase trade, significantly, with both of these great Nations. Additionally, I will work with you both to explore whether, after a ‘thousand years,’ a solution to the Kashmir issue can be achieved. God Bless the leadership of India and Pakistan for a job well done!!!” Trump wrote.

He praised both countries for their “strong and unwaveringly powerful leadership,” stating that their actions likely saved “millions of good and innocent lives” and enhanced their legacies.

Earlier on Saturday, Trump announced that India and Pakistan had agreed to a “full and immediate ceasefire” following U.S.-mediated negotiations.

While Pakistan acknowledged America’s role, India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri emphasized that the two countries had worked “directly” to finalize the agreement.

However, just hours later, both sides accused each other of violating the ceasefire after explosions were reported in two cities in India-administered Kashmir.
