Two 25-year-old men died after collapsing during the Great North Run in north-east England, organisers have confirmed.
The men, both from the North East, were taking part in Sunday's 13.1-mile event, which involved around 63,000 runners.
Medical teams responded after the two participants collapsed during the race, but both men died despite what organisers described as the "very best efforts" of medical staff.
The cause of death has not yet been determined.
