There's a potential for a courtesy meeting between BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman and Dr. Muhammad Yunus, who is currently visiting the UK as the head of Bangladesh's interim government. Maruf Kamal Khan, former press secretary to Khaleda Zia, announced on his Facebook account moments ago that top BNP leader Tarique Rahman will pay a courtesy call on Muhammad Yunus.
It is not known whether this meeting or courtesy call can take place in Dr. Yunus's hotel lobby.
Khan further wrote, "I consider this good news. Those who desire conflict are ignorant, reckless, self-serving, or engaged for harmful special purposes. I want Yunus-Tarique interaction for national interest. Let this understanding grow, and may it benefit the nation."
He informed this correspondent that "everything is stated in that status update."
It's believed that this meeting could improve the relationship, despite recent apparent tensions between the government and the BNP.
