Former U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney has passed away at the age of 84 due to complications from pneumonia and cardiac and vascular disease, his family announced.
According to a family statement, Cheney was surrounded by his wife Lynne, daughters Liz and Mary, and other loved ones at the time of his death.
The statement read: “For decades, Dick Cheney dedicated his life to serving our nation — as White House Chief of Staff, Congressman for Wyoming, Secretary of Defense, and Vice President of the United States. He was a remarkable man who inspired his family to cherish their country and to live with courage, integrity, compassion, and a love for fly fishing. We are profoundly grateful for his service to America and deeply blessed to have known and been loved by such a noble and extraordinary man.”
