From Community Hero to Custody: Fountain and Ireland Face Justice for Noah Campbell Tragedy

The judicial process is officially underway following a late-night collision on Greenfield Road that resulted in the death of 13-year-old Noah Campbell and serious injuries to two other teenagers.

Following an initial hearing at Luton Magistrates’ Court, 24-year-old Jamie Fountain and 23-year-old Ellie Ireland have been remanded in custody. The case has been formally transferred to the Crown Court, with the next hearing scheduled for the morning of *5 May*.

Verified Charges and Legal Status

According to official police statements and court records, Jamie Fountain, a groundworker from Fir Tree Close, Flitwick, faces a series of serious indictments. These include:

• Causing death by careless driving while over the prescribed limit for alcohol and a controlled drug.
• Two counts of causing serious injury by careless driving in relation to the surviving victims.
• Failing to stop at the scene of an accident and failing to report an accident.
• Conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

Ellie Ireland, an easyJet cabin crew member from Wingate Drive, Ampthill, who was a passenger in the BMW at the time of the 11:50 pm impact, has also been charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. Both defendants were denied bail during their preliminary appearance and will remain in custody until their May court date.

Noah Campbell: A Community in Mourning

Tributes continue to grow for Noah Campbell, described by his family as a "fun, bright, handsome, athletic and incredibly well-liked boy." Noah was a dedicated multi-sport athlete and a frequent face at both Liverpool FC and Luton Town matches. His family told journalists that his death "has left a hole in our lives that will remain forever."

The medical condition of the two other teenagers involved remains a central focus of the case. One boy remains in hospital in a serious condition, while the second has been discharged but continues to receive treatment for serious injuries.

Forensic teams are currently processing technical data from the vehicle involved, and officers continue to appeal for any dashcam or doorbell footage from the Greenfield Road area recorded between 11:30 pm and midnight on the night of the incident.
