Labour Leadership Pressure Grows as 10 MPs Urge Keir Starmer to Prepare Transition Plan

Pressure is continuing to grow on Keir Starmer as several Labour MPs reportedly urge the prime minister to prepare a leadership transition plan following heavy local election setbacks.

Among those said to support discussions about a future leadership change are former transport secretary Louise Haigh, committee chair Sarah Owen, and newer MPs including Jonathan Brash, Simon Opher, and Connor Naismith.

Reports suggest at least 10 Labour MPs now want Starmer to outline an orderly transition plan as concerns rise over the party’s recent political performance and voter support. Despite mounting criticism, Starmer has so far shown no sign of stepping down.
