Police arrested nine people after a teenage boy was stabbed during a large gathering linked to a TikTok-promoted event in south London.
The violence broke out on May 22 at Clapham Common, where large crowds had gathered following online promotion of a music-related meet-up shared widely on social media. According to the Metropolitan Police, officers were called to the scene after reports of fighting and disorder among attendees.
When emergency services arrived, they found a 17-year-old boy suffering from stab wounds. He was taken to hospital for treatment, but police later confirmed that his injuries were not life-threatening or life-changing.
Authorities moved quickly to disperse the crowd as tensions escalated across the area. During the operation, nine individuals were arrested on a range of offences connected to the disturbance.
Four males — including one aged 16, two aged 17, and a 19-year-old man — were arrested on suspicion of affray. A 14-year-old boy was additionally arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and affray.

Police also detained a 20-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy on suspicion of possessing a knife. An 18-year-old was arrested after allegedly assaulting a police officer during the incident.
All suspects remain in custody while detectives continue their investigation into the stabbing and wider disorder.
In a statement, Metropolitan Police urged anyone who attended the event or witnessed the violence to come forward with information. Officers asked members of the public to contact police by calling 101 and quoting reference CAD8948/22 May.
The incident has sparked renewed concerns about large gatherings organized through social media platforms, particularly events that attract hundreds of young people without security or supervision. Local residents described scenes of panic and chaos as officers attempted to restore order on the common.
Investigators are continuing to review footage from the area, including videos believed to have been shared online during the disturbance.
