The viral albino buffalo nicknamed “Donald Trump” has been spared from Eid sacrifice in Bangladesh after authorities intervened amid growing public fascination with the animal.
The rare white buffalo, raised at Rabeya Agro Farm in Narayanganj, had recently become an internet sensation because of its striking resemblance to U.S. President Donald Trump. Its white coat and distinctive hairstyle drew massive attention online, leading thousands of curious visitors to flock to the farm.
According to Bangladesh Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, the buffalo was initially sold to a buyer in Keraniganj for Eid-ul-Azha sacrifice. However, concerns over overwhelming crowds and possible security issues prompted authorities to step in. The buyer was refunded, and the buffalo was returned safely to the farm.
Officials say the animal will now continue to be cared for and raised instead of being sacrificed.
The 700-kilogram albino buffalo has attracted not only local media attention but also international coverage from agencies including Agence France-Presse and Reuters, making it one of Bangladesh’s most talked-about animals ahead of Eid.
