London Murder Probe After Young Man Stabbed at Civic Centre

A murder investigation has been launched after a young man was fatally stabbed at Brent Civic Centre in north-west London, close to Wembley Stadium. Emergency services were called to the Brent Council headquarters at about 2.25pm after reports of a stabbing, where officers found the victim suffering from stab wounds.

Paramedics treated the victim at the scene, but he was pronounced dead. Police believe he may have been a teenager or a man in his early 20s, but his identity has not yet been confirmed and officers are working to establish his identity and inform his next of kin.

No arrests have been made.

The Brent Civic Centre, which houses Brent Council offices and a public library, was evacuated following the incident and remains closed until further notice.

Staff, residents and visitors were present at the building when the stabbing occurred. Brent Council leader Muhammed Butt said those who witnessed the incident had been left shaken by what happened.
