A major crime inquiry is underway after a man in his 40s from Christchurch was pronounced dead at the scene of an assault outside MyBar. Dorset Police were alerted to the incident at approximately 3:00 am on 6 April, during the busy Easter Monday bank holiday weekend. Since the initial report, the Major Crime Investigation Team has cordoned off a large section of the street to preserve what they describe as "vital" evidence. While the victim’s identity has not been formally released, his next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. The focus of the probe remains on the immediate vicinity of the venue, with forensic teams seen documenting the pavement and building exterior, Daily Dazzling Dawn understand.

Three Suspects in Police Custody-The investigation moved rapidly on Monday morning, resulting in the arrest of three individuals on suspicion of murder. Detectives confirmed that two men from Bournemouth, aged 37 and 46, and a 34-year-old man from Poole were taken into custody shortly after the incident. They remain under caution as interviews continue. This incident occurs against a backdrop of ongoing concerns regarding safety in nightlife districts, though police have emphasized that this is an isolated and contained investigation. Residents in the Charminster area have been told to expect a heightened police presence throughout the week as officers conduct door-to-door enquiries and review private security footage from businesses located along the parade.

The force has issued a direct plea for anyone who was in the area between 2:30 am and 3:30 am on Monday to come forward. Detective Chief Inspector Nicky Jenkins told journalists that the presence of onlookers is a critical element of the current evidence-gathering phase. "We know there were a number of people in the area at the time who may have witnessed what happened and we would ask them to please get in touch," the DCI told journalists. Investigators are also focusing on motorists who may have passed the scene. "I am also appealing to anyone who was driving in the area and has dashcam fitted to their vehicle to please check it for any relevant footage," the lead investigator told journalists.

The forensic cordon on Charminster Road is expected to remain in place while the technical recovery of evidence is completed. Following the conclusion of the scene survey, a post-mortem examination will be conducted to formally establish the cause of death. This medical evidence will be pivotal for the next stage of the legal process as police consult with the Crown Prosecution Service regarding potential charges. Members of the public who have information are urged to contact Dorset Police or Crimestoppers anonymously, quoting occurrence number 55260048268. The DCI told journalists that the force remains grateful for the community’s patience during the disruption caused by the necessary road closures.
