The country's national elections have seen 21 out of 50 seats won by independent candidates supported by former prime minister Imran Khan, according to the counting that has been done thus far, as reported by Pakistan's Geo News.
Reportedly, Lahore and Larkana seats have been won by Nawaz Sharif, the candidate for prime minister, and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the contender for governor.
Results are still trickling in after counting delays which the electoral body has attributed to an "internet issue". A political party needs 133 seats in parliament for a simple majority.
